The following photographs are pictures taken on the first day of school, August 20, 2007.

Signal Mountain Christian School (offering grades K-5) began as a ministry of Wayside Presbyterian Church in 1998, and continues meeting on the campus of Wayside Presbyterian Church, but became an independent 501c3 entity in 2005. SMCS meets in excellent class room buildings behind Wayside Presbyterian Church; but is in the process of finding its own property and building classrooms.

David Moss has been the Chairman of SMCS from its beginning in 1998. David is an attorney, and also an elder at Wayside Presbyterian Church. David is married to Sherry, and their two sons Jon and Joseph are both graduates of SMCS.

During "opening ceremonies" SMCS Chairman David Moss led the parents, students and teachers in a time of prayer and dedication of the new school year.

The children prayed along with their parents and teachers.

After prayer, Logan Keith and Savannah Ducker raised the flag. Mrs. Ryan, SMCS 5th grade teacher, assisted.

We all enjoyed saying the Pledge of Allegiance together!

Some of the returning boys were glad to see each other again!

And so were the girls!
