INTRO: Psalms 146-150 are called the "Hallelujah Psalms," because they all begin with "Hallelujah," in Hebrew, which is translated: "Praise the Lord." The author is not recorded in the text; however these Psalms are thought to have been written for the dedication of the second temple, recorded in Ezra 6:13-16. The author may possibly by Ezra, or Zechariah or Haggai. This Psalm teaches us:
I. To Live A Life of Praise
II. To Beware of Trusting Mankind
III. To Trust in the Lord who:
A. Made all things
B. Remains faithful forever
C. Upholds the oppressed
D. Feeds the hungry
E. Sets prisoners free
F. Gives sight to the blind
G. Lifts up those who are bowed down
H. Loves the righteous
I. Watches over aliens, orphans and widows
J. Frustrates the wicked
K. Reigns forever.
CONCLUSION: Live a life of praise. Don't look to mankind for salvation, but rather to the almight loving God who made you and watches over you.
